Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • Your submission consists of:
    Full article text with abstract, keywords, complete bibliography and your personal data,
    Full article text with abstract, keywords, complete bibliography in fully anonymised version.
  • The submission files are in OpenOffice (.odt), Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx), or RTF (.rtf) document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text strictly adheres to template requirements, that is (but not only) 1,5 spacing, 11-point font and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and expecially bibliographic requirements outlined in the Financial Law Paper Template (available for download below).

We recommend that you familiarise yourself with the About the Journal page for the journal's section policies as well as the Reviewing procedure.

The article must be submitted in electronic form through the Articles section above.

The article has to satisfy the formal conditions laid down in publication procedure (available below) and meet the requirements laid down in article template (especially the citation style and abstract content, available below).

In particular, the Editorial Team reserves the right to decline publication of an article not adhering to substantive requirements for articles (§ 2 of the Publication Procedure).

§ 1

Formal requirements for the articles

The article (paper) for publication must be submitted in electronic form through the Articles section above.

The article has to meet the requirements described in article template and has to satisfy the following conditions:

1) Article language: English

2) Summary in English up to 1,500 characters with spaces. Summary's content adheres to guidelines specified in the article template below;

3) JEL Classification (JEL Classification Codes);

4) List of keywords;

5) Basic text of the article has to be no shorter than 20,000 and no longer than 80,000 characters with spaces (including footnotes) long. Preferred length: 40,000 characters with spaces (including footnotes) long.

6) Tables, drawings, diagrams have to bear titles and specify source of the data; they cannot be pictures and they have to be editable,

7) Citation style adheres to FLR guidelines available in template.

The article submission consists of:

1) File with full article text, abstract, keywords and bibliography, including Author's personal data they want to share, affiliation, contact information (contact e-mail and ORCID ID).

2) File with full article text, abstract, keywords and bibliography, but anonymized.

§ 2

Substantive requirements for articles

Articles sent to the Editor are transferred in a continuous mode to the section editors and then to reviewers.

The main criteria used to choose articles for publication in Financial Law Review are as follows:

- the article concerns innovative and insightful subject matter regarding broadly understood financial law,

- the article is distinguished by its high scientific level of substantive content,

- the article is juridical and comparative in nature, with highly recommended publication in co-authorship with a person with a foreign (that is, for Poland) affiliation.

§ 4

The editorial team initially verifies if the article complies with the thematic scope of the journal, whether it fits the template and conforms the requirements listed in § 1 and § 2.

§ 5

1. In case of positive initial evaluation, the editorial team forwards the article for peer review in accordance with the process described in the peer review procedure.

2. Two positive peer reviews form the basis for the decision to accept the article for publishing.

§ 6

After the acceptance of the article, Author will be asked to sign an agreement for the transfer of copyrights, in accordance with the template attached as Appendix 1 to the Financial Law Review Publication Procedure. Article will be published after the agreement is signed.

§ 7

Journal does not request any article subsmission, review, publication and processing charges.

Anonymization instructions:

To ensure the integrity of anonymous peer-review, every effort should be made to prevent the identities of the authors and reviewers from being known to each other. This involves the authors, editors, and reviewers (who upload documents as part of their review) checking to see if the following steps have been taken with regard to the text and the file properties:

  • The authors of the document have deleted their names from the text, with "Author" and year used in the references and footnotes, instead of the authors' name, article title, etc.
  • The authors of the document have removed personal information from the file properties by taking the following steps:
    • Microsoft Word for Windows:
      • Go to File
      • Select Info
      • Click on Check for Issues
      • Click on Inspect Document
      • In the Document Inspector dialog box, select the check boxes to choose the type of hidden content that you want inspected.
      • Click Remove All
      • Click Close
      • Save the document
    • Microsoft Word for MacOS:
      • Go to Tools
      • Click Protect Document
      • Select Remove personal information for this file on save
      • Click OK and save the file
    • PDF:
      • Go to File
      • Select Properties
      • Remove any name in the author field
      • Click OK
      • Save the document
