The article describes the recent dis-coveries in population genetics, which may shed some light on the problem of the Slavic origins. In the first part, the author gives a synthetic description of various theo-ries concerning the origins of the Slavs, with focus on linguist’s views. The second part is devoted to the results of the latest research in population genetics: analyses of contemporary mtDNA, Y-DNA and autosomal DNA of the Slavic nations, as well as ancient mtDNA from the territory of contemporary Poland.</p> ER -
