Russia and the USSR versus Poland – victims of anti-civilization. </strong><strong>(A bibliography of selected works from 1832-2021)</strong></p> <p>The paper presents selected issues in the area of Polish biographical lexicography from the genological perspective. The author proposes to distinguish a new type – obituary and commemorative lexicography. She states that no monographic work on biographical lexicography has been published within the Polish scholarly society. The existing publications are only in the form of thematic/problem and review articles. The second part of the paper contains a list of 379 Polish dictionaries; the bibliography covers the years 1832–2021. The data presented are considered statistically important. The author proves that the Gnostic-Manichaean influence on the religiousness of Russians is the source of their accumulation of rebellion against the world and the human fate predicted in it. This rebellion on the basis of a radical anti-world dualism gives rise to the destructive desires of Russians, which explode in various forms of historical destruction. Krüdener was a French-language writer, born in Riga, belonging to the honourable family of Baltic Germans, who, at the end of her life, was an advisor to Alexander I. The paper consists of five parts: “Who was she?” (the writer’s biography) “On the Baltic Sea” (a picture of Denmark in “Valérie” and Livonia in the memories), “In Saint Petersburg” (a picture of Russian tsars), “Towards the West” (a picture of Denmark and Italy in “Valérie” and Germany, France, England in the memories) and “The Conclusion” (the concept of a “Russian European”). Krüdener’s journeys were of intellectual type (meeting with political and cultural elites of Europe, participation in cultural life). By taking into consideration the main thought behind the title of the book, he examines what the search for happiness means to the writer. The notions of poetics intersect with remarks on the essay-like narration of the diary, in which the writer shares her thoughts on religions and cultures of the West, the East, South Asia, Russian migrants scattered around the world, the contemporary state of the Church and Christians in Europe and outside it, individual and collective ways of searching for God or human approach towards animals. The study aims to characterize and compare the structure and pragmatic characteristics of this component of the epistolary text, as well as to discuss its functions. Due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine which started on February 24th, 2022, Russian as a foreign language has been experiencing new challenges. In Japan, the academic year begins in April. Thus, the first semester (April through July) shows in the real time what the students think of learning the Russian language. Some students explain their choice of Russian with a great degree of attention paid to Russia in the media. Most students agree that learning a language broadens their worldview. Compared with the beginning of the semester, more students state their concerns regarding the stigmatization of the Russian language and its learners themselves. For Russian language teachers, revisiting the philosophy of their work is a vital task to reduce the students’ anxiety.</p> Daiki Horiguchi Prawa autorskie (c) 2023 2022-12-31 2022-12-31 9 117 129 10.26881/srg.2022.9.06 Потеря Я-уникальности как элемент пропаганды в языке советской публицистики <p><strong>The loss of SELF-uniqueness as a propaganda element in the language of Soviet journalism</strong></p> <p>The article describes the process of planned influence on people’s psyche by means of verbal manipulation, propaganda tactics taken from advertising tradition, as well as its various forms aimed at controlling consumer awareness in the Soviet reality of the 1930s and 1940s. A comprehensive methodological approach was used in the study, combining various methods (inductive and deductive as well as descriptive and interpretative). The study has proved that the tendentious and trite model of suggestive advertising texts as a combination of propaganda goals and consumer information, rejecting<br />any creativity and individuality, caused the destruction of social consciousness and dehumanization of a man enslaved by the Soviet totalitarian system. The paper shows political Russification activities aimed at the destruction of the Ukrainian nation, emphasizing the description of the linguistic genocide situation. It has been observed that Ukrainian intellectuals’ attitude towards the Ukrainian culture and language was not always responsible. Negative effects of the mechanisms creating a new social unit, indifferent to the cultural property and art of their own nation, as well as constituting a new mythology have been noticed. It has been found that some of the then Ukrainian activists saw an opportunity to counter the influence of the Soviet propaganda in the restitution of SELF-uniqueness, national awareness and return to national cultural traditions. The study covered 26 headlines from two thematic sections of the journal. A comparative analysis has showed differences in the structure and organization of information, the use of stylistic and emotive means, and the way the war is presented. The contrasts result from the fact that the texts belong to different press genres: informational or journalistic texts. Food photo, as a culinary media text, has a special «mass-media-gastronomic» language. In the thematic dessert photo, the aesthetic wholeness and function are tightly fused with other functions and address the practice and objectivity of social-home reality and leisure time. These texts can be understood as part of ideological preparations for the war against Ukraine in 2022. The presence of elements of Russian nationalist ideology in these texts will make it possible to answer the question of whether the neo-Eurasian ideology is the authentic basis of Russian neo-imperialist policy or whether it is merely a useful propaganda façade.</p> Marcin Składanowski Prawa autorskie (c) 2023 2022-12-31 2022-12-31 9 175 186 10.26881/srg.2022.9.10 Rosja Sowiecka i Związek Sowiecki w refleksji politycznej ruchu zetowego w Drugiej Rzeczypospolitej <p><strong>Soviet Russia and the Soviet Union in the Political Reflection of the “Zet”-movement in the Second Republic of Poland</strong></p> <p>The article is an attempt to present and analyze the concept of a foreign policy, formulated in the years of the Second Republic of Poland by the representatives of the political circle of “Zet”, and to relate to the issue of Poland’s relations with Soviet Russia (known later as the Soviet Union) and to the actions on the international arena of the eastern neighbor of Poland. The underground Polish Youth Union “Zet” was established in 1886 in Warsaw in order to fight for a united, independent, democratic and socially just Republic of Poland. In interwar Poland, while maintaining a secret character, “Zet” coordinated the activities of a network of public organizations and periodicals (forming the so-called “Zet”-movement) influencing the political and social life in the country. In Soviet Russia, and later in the Soviet Union, “Zet” saw a threat to the reborn Republic of Poland in the imperial and aggressive nature of the foreign policy of the Bolsheviks. “Zet” supported the federal program and then the Promethean program. The organization also advocated a close cooperation among the western neighbors of the Soviet state.
