The author illustrates mutual influences in literature and video games, which is an attempt to see those two areas of culture as equal. She joins the debate that rotates around the question of methodology which should be used in descriptions and analysis of video games. The simple distinction between narratology and ludology is not sufficient in game studies if we take into consideration the multidimensional and ambiguous structure of games. Using the examples of three strongly fabulized games – Planescape: Torment, Fallout series and the first part of The Witcher – the author examines how the traditional methods apply to the humanities in the case of video games. With this end in view she studies the most important elements of those games: the construction of represented world, the ways of creating game characters, and the methods of storytelling.</p>}, number={11}, journal={Panoptikum}, author={Czerniuk, Julia}, year={2012}, month={cze.}, pages={170–183} }
