Wpływ kryzysu na sektor MSP w krajach strefy euro w latach 2008–2011

Istotną zmianą wpływającą na dynamikę wzrostu znaczenia sektora MSP był kryzys, który rozpoczął się w 2008 r. Dotychczasowe nieliczne analizy wskazywały, że sektor MSP jest bardziej odporny na zmiany koniunktury niż sektor przedsiębiorstw dużych. Autorzy podejmują wstępną próbę weryfikacji hipotezy o mniejszej (niż dużych firm) wrażliwości sektora MSP na zmiany koniunktury na przykładzie krajów należących do strefy euro, wykorzystując dostępne dane z lat 2008-2011. Rozważania dotyczą wielkości i struktury populacji przedsiębiorstw, wielkości i struktury zatrudnienia według klas wielkości firm oraz struktury tworzenia wartości dodanej. Przeprowadzona analiza nie pozwala na przyjęcie lub odrzucenie hipotez co do procykliczności, kontracykliczności czy niezależności zmian w MSP od zmian koniunktury. Uzyskane wyniki nie potwierdzają większej odporności sektora MSP niż sektora DP na recesję. Gospodarki zdominowane przez MSP wyraźnie gorzej przechodziły fazę złej koniunktury po 2008 r. Nie znaczy to, że za głębszy kryzys należy obciążyć winą mniejsze podmioty gospodarcze. Można natomiast stwierdzić, że w tej grupie państw sektor MSP nie okazał się lepszym stabilizatorem koniunktury niż w pozostałych analizowanych gospodarkach.
