The Internet of Things as a catalyst for changes in the outsourcing of IT services

According to the McKinsey&Company research, the Internet of Things is likely to generate significant economic benefits for the global economy. Branches ofindustry that have the greatest potential in this area include healthcare, infrastructural services, energy, construction, transport and public sector services. The discussed concept is a great opportunity for many organizations. The benefits they can get are related to the increase in employee productivity, better allocation of capital, cost reduction, improvement of customer relations, automation of business processes, which can accelerate the market entry and provide a better and faster response to customer needs.
This concept is also likely to change the face of outsourcing of IT services and in the opinion of many analysts, as well as cloud computing, it can make a decisive contribution to changes in the range of IT outsourcing services while affecting the pace of growth in outsourcing.
The article is an attempt to analyze the impact of the phenomenon of the Internet of Things on the functioning of modern business organizations and the business models they use. The main aim of this article is to show the impact that IoT can have on changes in the outsourcing of IT services. The authors will try to present the potential direction of changes as well as the opportunities and challenges that appear both for the clients and suppliers of IoT technologies.
