Conditions of success in the proces of organizational change – the perspective of managers

The article discusses the essence of organizational changes (the first part of the article) and presents a short review of research that indicates the importance of managerial competence, including an important role of dispositions identified as readiness for change or openness to change (second part of the article). Case studies were attended by managers of one of the Polish company (named Company X) that underwent major transformations in the last 5 years. The article presents the results of interviews with the managers of that company. The interview was focused on issues directly related to the implementation of the change proces revealing the role of identified managers in the change management process, as well as the strengths and weaknesses of the company, also the managers’ beliefs about the reasons for resistance to change and actions against the resistance were also examined. The obtained results allowed to create an image of the organization in the context of conditions for the success of change implementation.
