CFP#2 Ukrainian Games of War

This special thematic issue titled "Ukrainian Games of War" invites game scholars to delve into the multifaceted reflections of the Russo-Ukrainian war in video games. To this moment, we have identified more than 200 digital games created in response to the 2022 and 2014 invasion. This is the thematic and chronological scope for our first special issue: the last 10 years of the Russian aggression on Ukraine as reflected in different types of games made in Ukraine and beyond.

We welcome submissions by 15 June 2024. Papers should be submitted via the EHGS portal and follow all formal and technical requirements listed on the our website.

Notification of acceptance shall be expected by 30 September 2024.

This issue stems from the ‘’Games of War’’ conference held on 24 February 2024 at the Faculty of History, University of Gdansk (Poland) in partnership with the Department of Computer Systems and Technologies at Simon Kuznets Kharkiv National University of Economics (Ukraine).
