Celem artykułu jest określenie stopnia i trendów koncentracji B+R w korporacjach transnarodowych w ujęciu geograficznym oraz branżowym. Analiza przeprowadzona została w oparciu o wskaźniki koncentracji oraz Indeks Herfindahla-Hirschmana w grupie tysiąca KTN o najwyższych nakładach na B+R w latach 2003-2014. Badania potwierdziły wysoki stopień koncentracji geograficznej i branżowej oraz pokazały, że wśród KTN silniejsza jest koncentracja związana z krajem macierzystym aniżeli z branżą, w której firma funkcjonuje. Pomimo ogólnego niewielkiego spadku intensywności koncentracji w badanym okresie zaobserwowano odwrócenie się tego trendu w ostatnich latach, a mianowicie wzrost koncentracji branżowej od 2010 r. oraz koncentracji geograficznej od 2013 r.
