The Cahiers ERTA began in 2006 as a scientific exchange platform dedicated to modern and contemporary Francophone literature, initially in the form of monographs. This innovative initiative was developed within the activities of the ERTA research group, founded by Ewa Małgorzata Wierzbowska, Tomasz Swoboda, and Olga Wrońska. Over time, the project evolved and expanded. In 2012, the Workshop for Research on Modern Francophone Literature was established, thereby broadening the research team's exploration field. The arrival of new members, including Jadwiga Bodzińska-Bobkowska, Katarzyna Kotowska, and Paulina Tarasewicz, enriched the diversity of perspectives.

In 2013, the Cahiers ERTA made a significant turning point by becoming an official journal, thus providing a privileged space to explore a multitude of interpretation methods and theories applicable to literary analysis. This transition paved the way for stimulating discussions and innovative contributions. Since then, the journal has continued to promote research and discussion in the field of Francophone literature.

In 2018, the Cahiers ERTA became a quarterly journal, demonstrating their ongoing commitment and vitality in the academic domain. This evolution underscores the enduring impact and importance of this project, which continues to inspire and stimulate the international academic community.

The journal requires no payment for the submission of articles, publication, reviews and other procedures.
