Strengthening Intergenerational Solidarity in Slovakia Via Parental Pension

The currently measure in the pension system of Slovakia in the form of a parental pension will significantly affect intergenerational solidarity. The aim of the paper is to define the characteristics of the parental pension, to point out the advantages and possible risks of the parental pension and to present the results of research aimed to find out the opinion of pensioners on parental pension. We used the chisquare test to assess the statistical significance of responses to our research question across distinct groups. The results point to the negative attitude of seniors towards the tool. Only 28.5 % of respondents answered positively to the question of whether they agree with the parental pension.
