Abstrakt

Sunset in Milanówek is largely a reflective lyric, asking essential philosophical questions about God, existence, death, man’s role in the nature, etc. In the poetry of Rymkiewicz the questions are more important than the answers. They inspire to seek explanations, to investigate the relations between man, nature and God. The hortus mundi of Milanówek is a poetic laboratory in which space is examined through the prism of times of day and year, living and dying. It is also a lyrical and philosophical picture of nature as an absolute, whose features or elements are ‘being’ and ‘non-being’ and whose incomprehensible force is deity. The main characteristic of the nature is forming and breaking up, organizing and dispersing. The existence and non-existence are its two functions, two modes of its action. The causes and effects of this action remain unrecognized.
