Abstract

This article is an attempt to answer the question: How did Colonel Januszajtis organize and execute the January 1919 coup and what were its final results? A second goal is to find confirmation of the thesis that the coup against the leftist government of Jędrzej Moraczewski was carried out bloodlessly. Januszajtis’ memoirs and other source materials are used. This article presents in chronological order the steps taken by Januszajtis from the organization through the course and aftermath of the assassination.
