Żarty z okazji prima aprilis jako źródło historyczne na przykładzie „Dziennika Bałtyckiego” 1947–1970

Abstrakt

Journalists from “Dziennik Bałtycki” newspaper have been taking the opportunity to fool the readers on the April Fools’ Day and make them laugh at the effects of hoaxes. General character of the jokes has been changing through the years. Some jokes were made due to difficult living conditions, especially a deficiency of some goods (like citrus, Coca-Cola, light bulbs) or high costs of everyday life (lower prices for bus tickets). In “Dziennik Bałtycki” were also jokes, that in a funny way referred to scientific progress (ex. wrecked space probe in Gdynia, message from alien civilization).
