Unity of Imagination. Similarities in the Beliefs of the Balts and Slavs

Abstract

I will deal with the description of similarities existing in beliefs of peoples that, while belonging to a single language community, exhibit many cultural differences. I will describe in brief the functions of both main gods of the pantheons, and those of minor deities. I will also deal in depth with the demonologies of the Balts, as well as with those of the Slavs; describing entities inhabiting spheres of water, air, forest and also domestic. It will allow me for an in-depth presentation of the power of human imagination transcending the cultural differences.
