Japan in the context of civilizational distinctiveness

Abstract

The article presents the most important features of the Japanese civilization: its culture and society as well as the state and economy. Some scholars consider Japan to be part of the Confucian civilization that China created, but the author of the work is inclined to conclude that the Land of the Rising Sun is a separate community. Many monographs have been written about Japan, so the aim of this work is to emphasize a certain civilizational independence of this community based on the indication of its distinctive features.
