This paper aims at presenting the political route of the pro-Islamic Justice and Development Party (tur. Adalet ve Kalkınma Partisi, AKP) that is ruling Turkey since 2002. The party`s discourse visibly reduces vital political, social and economical processes to the confrontation of „new” Turkey with an „old” one. The former is an immanent part of party`s ideological identity thus evolved substantially during past fifteen years. All this issues will be analyzed in this paper.
