Labour market in Poland and the COVID-19 pandemic as a challenge to social policy and its specific policies

The COVID-19 pandemic is a factor that can significantly change the situation on the labour market in Poland. Currently – although it is beyond dispute that such transformations will take place – there may be rather some predictions as to the expected directions and degree of possible modifications in this regard, and their final state will be the result of a duration of „suspension” of the activities of a number of companies, but also of employees, as well as the effectiveness of the actions taken – both in the medical, economic and social spheres. The presented article is one of the voices in the discussion on the indicated topic, taking place in the public space, the aim of which is not only to identify potential vectors of labour market development during and after the ongoing pandemic, but also to identify its main problems. This is because especially during periods of a significant economic downturn irregularities and neglects which can have a significant impact on the labour market and its participants are revealed.
