In the near future, two opposite phenomena will be emphasized: the phenomenon of extending the period of compulsory education and general participation in lifelong learning. The latter can be implemented both in the U3A formula and in the formula of regular classes for groups of 50 plus students. Although the number of such initiatives is very large, it has not yet solved the issue of preparing lecturers for these forms of seniors’ education. It may, and sometimes it generates tensions, which might have been observed in the stationary studies of the 50 plus formula implemented at the Pomeranian Academy in Słupsk. This means that teachers need to be professionalised for these forms of education in order to be able to differentiate between the classes at standard full-time studies and classes in the full-time studies from 50 plus to U3A.
