The Austrian policy with reference to national and religious minorities
Abstract
The article points out that there are two types of national minorities: 1. The autochthons, 2. Foreign population. The first group compromises Croatians in Burgenland. Slowens in Karyntia and Styria, Hungarians in Vienna and Burgenland, Czechs in Vienna as well as Gypsies in Burgenland. The second group consists of „young" minorities, Germans, Turks and citizens of other countries of the world. The study presents the retrospection of particular national groups.
