Quotations from Żeromski's Book of Job (Job 1:21 and Job 14:1-2)

Abstract

Stefan Żeromski often referred to the Bible. Biblical passages are present in many of his works. One form of dialogue with the Bible is the quotation of selected verses from the Holy Scriptures, to which the writer attaches an important message. In his novel The History of Sin, Żeromski quotes verses from the Book of Job three times. With their help, the writer expresses and deepens the truth about the finiteness of man.
