The text deals with the problem of academic procrastination as a common phenomenon among students, as indicated by both research and Author's personal observations. The plausible causes of this phenomenon are presented according to the latest research. They indicate its multifaceted and multi-causal nature. The second part of the text offers to academic teachers some ways in which they could help their students reduce the severity of this problem.
