General Information
PROGRESS is a peer-reviewed academic journal published biannually by the University of Gdańsk in open access format. All articles are made available electronically, free of charge and without technical barriers, in accordance with the principle of unrestricted access to scientific research results.
Journal Profile and Mission
PROGRESS provides a platform for the exchange of ideas and the dissemination of research in the broadly defined field of social sciences and humanities. The journal focuses in particular on the multidimensional development of society—its structures, processes, values, tensions, and transformations—analyzed through interdisciplinary and methodologically diverse perspectives.
The journal’s mission is to promote research that integrates theoretical reflection with practical applications of knowledge. Special attention is given to publications that transcend disciplinary boundaries, offer original contributions to contemporary academic debate, and respond to current social, cultural, and political challenges.
The editorial team aims to publish innovative works based on rigorous empirical studies or original theoretical insights. The journal welcomes contributions from authors at all stages of their academic careers, representing institutions both in Poland and abroad.
Types of Publications
The primary form of publication is original research articles. In justified cases, the journal also accepts reviews, conference reports, memoirs, and scholarly interviews.
