Abstract

The purpose of this article is to present various aspects of propaganda activities undertaken by the authorities during the communist period. The following text, which is an edition of an archival source, presents a speech from the opening of the art contest entitled “The Citizens’ Militia in the Eyes of a Child,” which is an exemplification of such activity. The article also discusses the issue of indoctrination of schoolchildren, which was an element of the authorities’ planned policy during the communist period in Poland.
