Abstract

The aim of the article will be to describe the political ritual of the work of the parliament of the Republic of Uganda and to analyze the functions of the parliament as an institution that plays a key role in promoting democracy among Ugandans and establishing good governance by introducing democratic norms and standards. The research conducted at the Parliament of the Republic of Uganda concluded that the political ritual of the work of the Parliament of the Republic of Uganda and the accompanying symbolism are intended to strengthen the political myths that legitimize the government. In this particular case, the political ritual aims to convince the public of its democratic function. Both by the president and the chairmen, the parliament is created as an institution that takes action for the benefit and will of the people.
