The principles of science policy in Poland and the mission of the university

Abstract


In the following paper it is indicated that science is the fundamental value in the cultural and civilization development of humanity. In the historical process, its institutionalization evolves, while its main role (understanding nature, culture, civilization and the human) remains. In the institutional reality of science, university is a special subject, which has to face a challenge of cultivating the heritage of the past and merging it with the latest scientific and research achievements. The humanities and social science play a prominent role in the construction of the information society, based on scientific and technical progress, global legal solutions and modern education. In the process of building of civil society, which currently takes place, the research in the field of political science is crucial. Nowadays there exist several options, vision and intellectual processes in the field of the mode of this research.
