Abstract

The article describes the most important factors in the field of social psychology which, apart from traditional economic factors, have a significant influence on economic decisions. The main axis of science analyses in this article is the perception of risk treated as individualized process. There are described several qualitative factors that may cause the decision-makers to make decisions other than those arising from the quantitative criteria. In the following paragraphs are described and exemplified the impact of heuristics on risk assessment and the phenomenon of autocorrelation in prices of financial instruments and the psychological mechanisms that may underlie their ground. It has been stated that psychological factors are significant enough to affect the assessment of economic risks that could substantially affect the decisions of market players, and thus the behavior of the market.
