The article’s aim is to present an analysis of the investment funds market in Luxembourg. The market was measured in two categories: by the net asset value and the number of registered Undertakings for Collective Investment and units issued by them. It focuses also on legal ordering, foreign promoters’ interest in registering an UCI in Luxembourg, comparing the Grand Duchy market to the world market and explaining the reasons why this small country has been very successful. The article has been prepared on the basis of official sources from reports prepared by the Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (CSSF) and the European Fund and Asset Management Association (EFAMA), as well as thetruesize.com application, which enabled visualization to assist with the analysis.
