Logistic aspects of conference organization on the example of VI Sopot Logistic Workshops

Abstract

At the beginning, the article presents the definition of conference and logistics. Then it was discussed what Sopot Logistics Workshops are and how logistics is used during organization of this conference. The most important aspects of SWL preparations were presented such as: providing human resources, providing access to infrastructure, information flow and IT setting, obtaining financial resources, a competition of lectures, logistic customer service and obtaining honorary and media patrons. The article attempts to evaluate these individual activities. The conducted analyzes show that the best working components are providing human resources and access to infrastructure, information flow and IT setting as well as obtaining financial resources. However, some aspects of logistics customer service could be improved.
