Macroeconomic aspects of investment risk assessment in an innovative sources of electric energy manufacturing

Abstract

Investments in innovative electricity generation sources are interested in individual investors as well as companies with an established position in the market. They differ their goals, which result from the assumptions of their business profile. Their common feature is the desire to limit to the necessary minimum the risk associated with investments in generating sources. There are a number of methods for its recognition and depending on the correct knowledge of threats, mechanisms are known to counteract them. Due to the wide range of types of risks, many methods of their assessment have limitations resulting from this. The need to develop effective methodology for risk assessment in national conditions is noticeable. For this reason, an attempt was made to answer the question whether there is a possibility to create a risk assessment method for investing in innovative electricity generation sources, and if so, in which form it should be implemented? As a result of the conducted analysis, it has been proved that its implementation on the macroeconomic scale is insufficient and the microeconomic approach seems to be justified.
