Telematics in a transport company on the example of Enterprise Logistics

Abstract

The purpose of the article was to show the impact of implementing telematics systems on transport companies. Particular accent has been placed on highlighting the positive effects on the financial results of companies and increasing flexibility due to maximum simplification of processes. An example of a successful implementation process has shown that telematics is the future of transport companies. The example of Enterprice Logistics shows that if the start of the process is preceded by an analysis of the state of the enterprise and suppliers, the implementation is smooth and measurable effects are achieved very quickly. Due to the common manipulation of driver’s working time, the author suggested his idea of a telematics system that can increase the level of Road safety. In 1997, the ʺVision Zeroʺ policy was implemented in Sweden. Its main assumption is that the fault for causing the accident is not on the driverʹs side. Road and vehicle builders are also responsible. Modern telematics solutions open new possibilities for them. The implementation of the ʺVision zeroʺ policy becomes possible.
