Abstract

A business project used data obtained from the 2021 company. The study's main objective is to improve the efficiency of supplier selection by creating data specifications that support this process. Business Intelligence systems were used in the project for PKP Energetyka. The paper presents definitions that appear in the literature and then map the processes using the BPMN 2.0 tool. As a result, two maps of the supplier selection process were created – within the building materials purchasing category and the MUZ-a. The study used Business Intelligence systems to improve supplier selection – the Power BI tool. The project group created a dashboard showing the location of construction and electrical wholesalers. It included the necessary information about the wholesalers' branches, such as their number, type, location, shipping data, and contact details. In addition, the efficiency of purchasing raw materials from wholesalers was improved by using online databases of business entities. By implementing the business project described in the article and achieving various results, the project team came to many interesting and practical conclusions.
