Okno na święto polskiego kina. Relacje z Festiwalu Polskich Filmów Fabularnych na łamach czasopisma „Film” w okresie Polskiej Rzeczypospolitej Ludowej

Abstrakt

The article analyses how the Polish Film Festival in Gdańsk (and Gdynia) was presented in the cultural magazine Film during the period of Polish People’s Republic. It focuses on the first thirteen iterations of the Festival. The article is based on select pieces from Film and examines the various ways in which film critics wrote about the event, from attempts to provide an overview of the state of Polish cinematography to efforts to reform the Festival through proposals articulated in the magazine. It also highlights the usefulness of movie reception analysis in festival studies.
