Abstrakt

The essay focuses on Alfred Schreyer, violinist, singer, and teacher from Drohobych, the last living pupil of Bruno Schulz. Schreyer was a Holocaust survivor, an inmate of the camps of Cracow Płaszów, Gross-Rosen and Buchenwald. Afer the war he studied music and for forty years taught in the Drohobych High School of Music. He was also the founder of the choir “Odrodzenie” and propagated the multiculturalism of Drohobych, combining Jewish, Polish, and Ukrainian traditions. Performing is a trio with Tadeusz Serwatko and Lova Lobanov, he gave concerts in Ukraine and Poland (Warsaw, Cracow, Lublin) singing in various languages from Jewish and Ukrainian songs to Polish tangoes and patriotic songs. Alfred Schreyer collaborated with the International Bruno Schulz Festival in Drohobych.
