The Faculty of Oceanography and Geography at UG was the first faculty in Poland to introduce tutoring into its educational offerings in a systematic and formalized way. This happened in the 2014/2015 academic year. Since then, one hundred sixty-six students under the supervision of twenty-seven tutors have completed a total of almost two hundred tutorials. The paper presents the results of surveys that were conducted among students, alumni, and tutors of the Faculty. Students cited the development of individual interests, development of research skills and soft skills as the main motive for participating in tutoring and a benefit. In addition, graduate students, in retrospect, pointed to direct contact with the tutor and better chances in the job market. Tutors, although pointing to various difficulties in implementing a tutoring program, such as the lack of systemic solutions at the university level, highly value the satisfaction they derive from working with students and the opportunity to accompany them in their development, as well as the personal growth they experience in the tutoring process.
