Muszą ewoluować, aby sprostać wyzwaniom technologii i elastycznym programom nauczania. Artykuł ma na celu uchwycenie ewolucji bibliotek akademickich w czasie, a dokładniej przeanalizowanie kategorii zmian, którym podlegają, a zwłaszcza: ewolucję rozwoju kolekcji, ewolucję przestrzeni bibliotecznych, ewolucję usług świadczonych przez biblioteki akademickie oraz ewolucję organizacji informacji. Artykuł omawia te cztery rodzaje zmian, zapewniając pomoc w zrozumieniu sposobu, w jaki ewoluują biblioteki akademickie oraz prowadzą dziś swoją działalność.
