About the Journal

Aim and subject of the journal

Each subsequent issue of Ars Educandi focuses on the title category, to which the invited authors can relate their research interests. The inclusion of published articles by common title is to open the possibility of communication between all disciplines of education sciences. The thematic categories of the journal are so general and multi-context, that you can refer to them from different disciplines of pedagogy. At the same time, they are an expression of a specific matter that can combine these diverse disciplines. The thematic part is supplemented with the Reviews - Inspirations - Polemics section, which is intended to help in dealing with the abundance of the domestic and foreign publishing market. Ethical principles in force in the journal

Ars Educandi takes care of the quality of scientific publications, taking into account the guidelines of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education regarding the reliability of scientific work and the recognition of authorship. This also applies to ethical standards developed by COPE. (The COPE flowcharts)

Unethical copyright practices: The journal makes every effort to ensure that all texts accepted for publication meet ethical standards. Both editors and recipients of the texts have the right to know about the entities involved in the creation of texts published in Ars Educandi, as well as be certain about the integrity and reliability of the authors. The journal has procedures developed to exclude non-original articles, plagiarisms, autoplagies and secondary publications from previous work. At the same time, we ask the authors to conduct ethical conduct consistent with sound scientific practices.

Standard of the review and its uniformity: Editors of Ars Educandi have the task to act ethically, also in the context of the reviewing text procedure. The procedure is clearly described and available to applicants for their texts. Reviews are conducted in a standardized way. Ars Educandi also publishes articles by members of the editorial office - such texts must go through the same path of review and acceptance by the rest of the editorial board members. Any special treatment of editorial staff members in the publishing process is unacceptable.

Conflict-related matters and appeals: During the contacts with the authors and reviewers, the editorial office allows polemics and argued discussion. Critical remarks should be submitted to editorial staff involved in the publishing process. Communication is a symbol of respect and ethical behavior, therefore we treat all its forms with respect and seriousness during not only the publishing process, but also the overall editorial work. At the same time, the editors of Ars Educandi - caring for the confidentiality of reviews - do not share their correspondence with authors and reviewers, except for situations in which they express a clear request. The editors do not disclose the identity of the reviewers of individual texts. At the same time, the editors of Ars Educandi consider it inappropriate to publish or publicly comment on the work of internal and external reviewers by the authors and the author.

Anti-plagiarism procedure: In order to ensure authenticity, the editors try to identify any attempts to commit plagiarism and implement appropriate proceedings in case of detection. Cases of such negative practices will be unmasked, including notification of relevant entities (institutions employing authors, scientific societies, scientific editors, et cetera). Autoplag: Ars Educandi does not allow publication of texts published previously in other magazines or monographs (text recycling). It is acceptable to use a lot of text about the method or current state of knowledge with a clear source selection. The author / author should clearly indicate the places of the previous publication and make sure that he does not violate the copyrights of third parties, eg co-authors or publishing entities. Secondary publication: Ars Educandi publishes original scientific articles. It is not recommended to present already published studies with qualitatively secondary conclusions. Of course, the author can refer to previously collected materials or carried out research. However, this fact should be clearly indicated and justified (eg new contexts, insights, questions, applications, etc.). Recognition: Each author is obliged to inform the editors of Ars Educandi about the participation of other authors or specialized entities in the publication and research being the basis of this . The situation of authorship should be avoided in cases where the participation of a given person was insignificant or none. The rule applies in particular to cases such as "ghostwriting" and "guest authorship".

Public disclosure on funding: All authors are required to disclose sources of financing for the submitted publication.
