The article addresses the issue of satisfaction with life of people with hearing impairment in the context of their role as students and members of the academic community. It introduces the problem of satisfaction as an important issue in the field of psychology and pedagogy. Its most important part is the presentation of the author's research results, along with the assumptions of the research methodology, including the own tool used in the research - the Life Satisfaction Scale in the context of studying. A research group consisting of 114 students with moderate, severe or profound hearing impairment and 295 hearing students, enrolled in over 34 different academic institutions in Poland is described in the text. It presents the results of research analyses that reveal both the general level of satisfaction with life in the context of studying, as well as the areas of life in which students are most or least satisfied. The presented results allow us to draw a conclusion that the fact and degree of damage to the hearing organ do not influence the perceived level of satisfaction. The article ends with an indication of the factors that may influence the shaping of a high level of satisfaction among the respondents, which is important for the issue of strengthening students' involvement in the process of studying.
