Biographical note on Rita Grochocińska, Ph.D. – primary school teacher; lecturer at the District Methodological Centre in Koszalin (1961–1971); academic teacher at the Institute of Pedagogy, University of Gdańsk (1971–2003); head of the Department of Early Education (1993–2003); professor at the Gdańsk University of Humanities; Dean of the Faculty of Pedagogy; Director of the Postgraduate and Teacher Training Centre (2002–2011). Her research interests covered issues of violence against children of preschool and early school age in intact and broken families, and the functioning of a seafaring family.
