Religious imagination in the Wiek nowy by Krzysztof D. Szatrawski

Abstract

The author of this article presents religious motives in poetry. References to the sacred are used to diagnose the spiritual and moral situation of the contemporary world, which is in the phase of a cultural catastrophe. The poet evokes various layers of tradition and confronts them with civilization. The poems testify to the erosion of religious imagination and the helplessness of man in the face of the progressing spiritual self-destruction of humanity.
