Phonetics of language islands. Leading remarks on example of Schönwald in Silesia
Keywords:
phonetics, dialect, language islandsAbstract
The aim of this paper is to show how are the phonetic features of a language island. On the one side there are processes simplifying the articulation, and on the other side idiophonic processes adopting the articulation features from the dominate language in the surroundings. The examples come from the former German language island in Silesia: Schönwald (pol. Bojków).
