Reviewing procedure

Texts submitted to „Studia Germanica Gedanensia” will be subject to a peer review process. As a first step, every article undergoes formal assessment by the editors. After qualification at this stage it is then passed on to two independent reviewers. Texts are reviewed anonymously and in full confidentiality, following the double-blind review system. The decision to publish articles is dependent on the assessment of the reviewers.

The written review contains the grounds of assessment and suggestions for improvements and the reviewer’s unequivocal proposal regarding the conditions for admission of a research article for publication or for its rejection. Eligibility criteria: a) conformity with the character of the periodical, b) compliance with scholarly knowledge, c) clarity of the lecture, d) originality, e) research value.

The editors have the right to make minor changes to articles, as well as abridgements, not having any effect upon the overall merit of the content.

The editors would like to inform contributors that the practices of „ghostwriting” and „guest authorship” are against the ethics and practices of scientific inquiry.
