Abstract

The essay analyses configurations of Jewishness in the works of Günter Grass. Against the backdrop of Grass’s poetologial examination of Theodor W. Adorno’s Auschwitz dictum, the author of the article considers the literary structures underlying Grass’s description of Jewishness and the Shoah as well as the arrangement of Jewish characters or focalizers relevant for the narration of Jewish characters.
