Abstrakt

Parliamentary democracy, connected with constitutionalism, has long tradition in our country. It’s possible to find this phenomenon in Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth before the partitions. Later, this type of political system could be found after I World War, when preponderance of Parliament was reestablished. Also in the period of the People’s Republic of Poland the parliamentary-cabinet system of government was one of the pillars of political reality and this situation lasts till now. However, it is not good for Poland because it results in specific and complicated situations in many aspects. De lege ferenda, the Author proposes to consider the introduction of the more presidential system of government in the eventual new Constitution that would be better for Poland than not stable parliamentary system.
