Konstytucyjna regulacja podstawowych zasad prawa wyborczego

Abstrakt

The article is a voice in the discussion on the need to introduce amendments to the Constitution of the Republic of Poland of 2 April 1997. It presents the Author’s position on the correction of the basic principles of electoral law in such document. The current regulation of this issue is difficult to be considered optimal, devoid of various weaknesses and not requiring any changes. The postulates formulated in the article concern in particular: the elimination of the dispersion in the Constitution of provisions on electoral issues, the constitutionalisation of elections to the European Parliament and elections of mayors and presidents of cities, the uniformization of the basic principles of electoral law and supplementing their catalog with the principle of free elections.
