Abstrakt

The concepts of the adequacy and fairness of pensions can be perceived in two different dimensions. They are not synonyms. The meaning of the term fair pension should be sought in the social field, in which the dominant issue is to determine the amount of the benefit that would provide the beneficiary with an adequate standard of living. The concept of an adequate pension belongs to the sphere of finance in which the amount of the benefit depends on the “value” of the collected contributions.
