Abstrakt
The Court of Auditors is one of the seven institutions of the European Union. According to the Treaty on the Functioning of the eU (Article 285), the Court “shall carry out the Union’s audit”. it consists of one national from each member State and is independent from other authorities. The Court’s significance has considerably increased since 1999. The Author discusses the specific competences of the Court, its composition, rules of operation and practice, including cooperation with the relevant bodies of the European Union Member States.
