The article is dedicated to governmentality which is a term introduced to social sciences by Michel Foucault in order to describe and analyze institutions, processes and forms of power that do not come down to top-down governance, management, domination or discipline, but the exercise of power with the participation of the entities which are formally its subjects. It is devoted to a revision of the concept and analysis of fundamental problems which it brings about in social sciences, possible ways of its application in relation to a multicultural society and its reverse, i.e. so-called multicultural ungovernmentality.
