Sociology of music and critical discourse analysis

Abstract

The text presents the specificity of critical research on discourse in the perspective of musical practices of people. The first part of the text is of a theoretical and methodological nature, outlining the mutual relations between the sociology of music and critical discourse analysis (CDA). The second part of the text refers to various phenomena and processes from the social and musical life that can be analyzed using critical discourse analysis. In particular, in the text were discussed such issues, as communication processes related to symbolic violence and power and domination in the area of musical life.
