An invitation to the sociological debate on climate change
Abstract
The article identifies the main epistemological and language problems that are discussed in the contemporary literature on climate change. The first part considers the role of epistemological beliefs (realism, constructivism and intermediate views) in framing the climate debate. The second part points out the meanings of terms used in debates about climate change and related environmental risks. The third part, meanwhile, addresses the challenge of climate debates with non-experts and presents the content of the thematic issue.
